So the ultimate diva, Jennifer Lopez, will be competing in a triathlon. That means she will be swimming, cycling, and running all in the same day for a really long time. I don't even think I can do one of those in one day. Anyway, here is a video of Mrs. Lopez-Anthony talking about her training and also some shots of her in training.

Mexico City, a Cultural Guide
I just thought it was interesting because I have been to Mexico City a few times. Mostly through the airport, but I have been able to drive around for a bit twice. It definitely has a reputation of being overcrowded, polluted, and full of crime, so this should be an interesting inside look of a foreigner going in and telling his story.

Christina Aguilera "Rocks Out" her baby
"In the new broadcast ad, set to debut later this summer, Aguilera sings a lullaby of "America the Beautiful" to her son, who was born in January. The Grammy winner said she didn't think twice about putting her son in the spot because it's "inevitable that he will be subjected to some amount of press," so it might as well be channeled into a good cause."

If you go to Costa Rica and want to bring back a stray pet, make sure you REALLY want it!
"If you are going back to the States, or Canada, it is actually very easy. The dog, or cat, will need to receive all the required vaccinations, including rabies. Any vet will know what to do, and they will then provide you with a certificate that you will need to present at the airport, prior to your trip. Upon arrival on U.S. or Canadian soil, domestic dogs or cats must be free of evidence of diseases that can be contracted by humans. If the animal is not in apparent good health, further examination by a licensed veterinarian may be required at the owner’s expense."

Teaching Black and Hispanic kids how to swim
"When Kelvin Franklin heard the results from a recent national study that nearly 60 percent of black children cannot swim, he was not surprised.
As aquatics director at the YMCA's Shades Valley branch, Franklin sees firsthand that minority youths are not as likely as white children to take swimming lessons, mirroring the survey taken by USA Swimming. "

Exercising in the Moonlight
According to this story, Jennifer Lopez has been exercising like crazy to lose her baby weight. I guess the time she has chosen is in the wee hours of the morning.
"The Latino singer, who gave birth to twins Max and Emme in February, is reportedly losing up to 10lbs a week by getting up at 4am and hitting the gym in a bid to regain her famous figure."
10 pounds a week??? Holy hell is this the Biggest Loser? I don't know about you but I like my sleep way too much to be getting up at 4 am just to exercise.

Don't ask me what time it is
Cuz I don't even know. On Sunday Mexico sprang forward an hour.
"Clocks in Mexico will spring forward an hour at 2 a.m. The time change will end the one-hour time difference that existed on the border for the past four weeks, a difference that affected thousands of people who split their time between Baja California and San Diego County."
That makes sense because when I talked to my dad a few days ago he said he was 2 hours ahead from me now. Arizona doesn't do daylight savings time for some reason that I'm too lazy to research right now, so for my family and friends in IL I usually have to remind them of that time difference. I'm either an hour behind or 2 hours behind. As of right now I'm 2 hours behind. And yes, I have been woken up by many a text message at 6 am or earlier by lovely friends who think that I'm awake at those ungodly hours because they themselves are at work or on their way to work :)

In a Perfect World...........according to Mexicans though
"The colorful ad, created by the Teran\TBWA agency and the vodka maker, is a sight gag depicting what a map of North America might look like "In an Absolut world," i.e., a perfect one.
It shows the Mexican border extending, very roughly, to its position during the 1800s before the Mexican-American War.
At that time, California as we now know it was part of Mexican territory and known as Alta California. Those territories eventually became U.S. property after the voluntary annexation of Texas and, later, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo."
I mean, it doesn't offend me. I honestly don't even care. It's pretty clever on their part though.

No Boys Allowed
"The women-only bus service, launched in January, is the city's answer to a long-standing complaint among Mexican women that in the sardine-can confines of buses and subways, some men simply will not keep their hands to themselves."
At least for me, and knowing what I know about the city, it would definitely make me feel much better.

"The ceremony honors the St. Patrick Battalion, a group of 600 Irish-American soldiers who switched sides to fight for Mexico in the 1846-1848 Mexican-American War. On St. Patrick's Day, many Mexicans will raise a glass to commemorate the "Irish martyrs" who are regarded as heroes in a war that still arouses passions here."

Jennifer Lopez takes her twins home
"Jennifer and Marc will reportedly name their babies Max and Emme."
Christina Aguilera named her son Max too. Hopefully there won't be any cattiness about that. I also heard that Christina is apparently pissed that J. Lo is getting a lot more money for her baby pictures than Christina did. But, what can you do? As for Emme, how do you pronounce that? Like Emmy? In my opinion, if those really are the baby names, they are alright. I think they could've done better than that. I suppose it's cute for now though.

Young Hispanic Women More Likely Than Other Girls To Attempt Suicide
According to the Washington Post and as reported on the Kaiser Network, young Hispanic women are more likely than other girls to attempt suicide. I can't say I've known anybody that was like this. I thought it would have been something that was more visible with white teenagers. The article is interesting nonetheless and it would be interesting to see other studies.
